At Granite Digital, we believe your biological data belongs solely to you. We built Velle from the ground up to be unapologetically private, functioning securely offline without requiring accounts, emails, or personal identification.

This Privacy Policy explains what information our cycle tracking app ("Velle" or the "App") processes, and how that information is handled to ensure maximum privacy and security.

1. Data Collection and Storage

Types of Health Data Processed

Velle processes specific categories of personal and sensitive health data locally on your device to provide its core features, including:

  • Period Tracking: Cycle dates, flow intensity, and basal body temperature (BBT).
  • Stress Management & Mental Acuity: Mood, energy levels, and associated emotional states.
  • Diseases and Conditions Management: Physical symptoms, pain levels, and the generation of medical reports for your personal healthcare providers.

Purpose of Processing

Your data is processed strictly to provide the App's functionality: tracking your personal physiological patterns, generating personal insights, and allowing you to export your symptom history (Medical Reports) to share with your doctor.

Local Processing Only

Velle does not collect, upload, transmit, or share your personal, health, cycle, or symptom data to our servers, third-party analytics providers, advertising networks, or any other external entities. All data you enter into the app—including the health categories listed above—remains strictly on your personal device.

Zero Third-Party Tracking

The App operates without account creation. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Meta Pixel, or any other tracking SDKs. We have zero visibility into how you use the App, what you record, or your identity.

2. Cloud Backups (Velle Pro)

For users who subscribe to Velle Pro, the App offers a Cloud Backup feature designed with zero-knowledge architecture:

  • Encryption: Before any data leaves your device, your entire local database is heavily encrypted using AES-256 (SQLCipher) with a unique key generated entirely on your device.
  • Storage Mechanism: Velle uses your device’s native OS-level backup infrastructure (such as Google Drive via Android Auto-Backup or iCloud on iOS) to store the encrypted database file.
  • Zero Knowledge: Granite Digital does not host this data, nor do we possess the decryption keys (your Recovery Phrase). We cannot decrypt, view, or access your backups under any circumstances, even if compelled by law enforcement. Only you hold the decryption key to restore your data.

3. Financial Transactions

If you choose to purchase an optional subscription (Velle Pro), all financial transactions are processed securely through the native app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).

Granite Digital does not collect, process, or store your credit card information, billing address, or name. We only receive an anonymous, cryptographic receipt from the app store confirming that a purchase was valid, enabling us to unlock premium features within the App.

4. App Permissions

To function correctly, Velle may require the following device permissions:

  • Notifications & Alarms: Used exclusively to deliver local, offline reminders (such as period predictions and custom alerts). Velle schedules these alerts directly with your device’s operating system. No notification content is generated by or routed through remote servers.
  • Storage/Files: Used exclusively when you choose to generate and save PDF reports locally to your device.

5. Security Features

  • App Lock: You may optionally protect the App with a PIN code. This PIN is hashed (using SHA-256) and salted, stored only on your device, and is never transmitted.
  • Stealth Mode: For users requiring maximum discretion, Velle offers the ability to disguise its icon and name. These UI changes happen entirely locally.

6. Children's Privacy

Velle is a complex biological tracking tool designed for adults and teenagers capable of managing their health data. We do not design the App for, nor do we intentionally market to or solicit information from, children under the age of 13. Because Velle operates completely offline and collects no data, it is inherently incapable of capturing identifying information from minors.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we add new features to Velle, our commitment to absolute data sovereignty will remain unchanged. If updates to the App require modifications to this Privacy Policy (for example, explaining a new local-only feature), we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
