Cutline Privacy Policy

Cutline Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 21, 2026

Created By: Granite Digital ("we," "us," or "our")

This Privacy Policy explains how information about you is collected, used, and disclosed by Granite Digital when you use our mobile application, Cutline (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Cutline is designed with a privacy-first approach. The App is offline-first and does not contain any analytics, telemetry, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not operate any servers that store your data.

Information You Provide to Us

  • Calculation Tape: When you perform a calculation, a record of its inputs, outputs, and the pipe specification used is stored locally on your device so you can glance back at recent work. The tape holds the 100 most recent entries; older entries are automatically removed.
  • Pipe Specification & Preferences: Your last-used pipe spec (size, material, schedule, fitting, weld gap), display mode (Standard / Dark / High Contrast), units (feet-inch-fraction / decimal inches / millimetres), text size, haptic intensity, and last-used calculator are stored locally on your device so the App reopens to where you left off.
  • Fitting Presets: Any named take-out overrides you create are stored locally on your device.
  • Contact Form: If you tap Settings → Contact → Send message, the email address and message you provide are sent to us via a third-party email-relay service (EmailJS) so we can reply to you. We only receive what you choose to send. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store: your name, location, device identifiers, IP address, usage analytics, crash logs, or any of your calculations, tape entries, or pipe specifications.

Trial Usage Counter

To enforce the free-use trial, the App keeps a local count of foregrounded sessions and the timestamp of the most recent counted session. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us.

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above to:

  • Provide the App's core functionality (calculations, recent-calc tape, pipe-spec persistence, settings).
  • Determine whether your free trial has been used up or whether you hold an active purchase.
  • Respond to enquiries you send us via the in-app Contact form.

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage Only: Your tape entries, fitting presets, pipe specification, settings, and trial-usage counter are stored exclusively on your mobile device. We do not operate cloud storage or back up your data to our servers.
  • Network Access: Cutline only makes network requests in two situations: (1) communicating with the Google Play Store to verify and restore purchases, and (2) sending your message via EmailJS when you tap Send on the Contact form. The App is otherwise fully functional offline (including in airplane mode).
  • Deletion: You can wipe all locally stored data at any time via Settings → Data → Delete all data. This permanently removes your tape, presets, pipe spec, and display preferences from your device. Uninstalling the App also removes all locally stored data. (Your purchase entitlement is preserved across a Delete-all-data reset and can be restored on a new device via Google Play.)

4. In-App Purchases

Cutline offers optional monthly, annual, and lifetime upgrades to remove the trial-use limit. Payments are processed entirely through the Google Play Store. We do not process, collect, or store your payment card details. We only receive confirmation from Google Play that a purchase is active so we can unlock features.

5. Children's Privacy

Cutline is a professional tool intended for pipefitters and trades professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

6. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third parties only as described above:

  • Google Play Billing: for processing in-app purchases. See Google's privacy policy for details on how Google handles your purchase data.
  • EmailJS: for relaying messages sent via the in-app Contact form to our support inbox. EmailJS receives the email address and message you submit. See EmailJS's privacy policy for details.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice. We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the App.
