This Privacy Policy explains how information about you is collected, used, and disclosed by Granite Digital when you use our mobile application, Glug (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Glug is designed with a privacy-first approach. We collect minimal information to provide you with the best experience.

Information You Provide to Us

  • Hydration Data: When you log water or other drinks, we store this information locally on your device to track your daily progress and statistics.
  • Settings and Preferences: We store your preferences, such as daily goals, whether features like dynamic hydration are active, and application configurations locally on your device.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Health Data: Glug supports optional integration with Google Health Connect (Android) and Apple Health (iOS).
    • If you choose to enable the Apple Health Sync/Health Connect feature in settings, the App will sync your hydration logs to your device's native health repository.
    • If you enable Dynamic Hydration, the App requests permission to securely read your "Active Energy / Calories Burned" data from your native health repository strictly to calculate an activity bonus for your daily hydration goal.
    • Crucially: All health data remains on your device. Granite Digital does not transmit, store on external servers, or sell any of your health or fitness information.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's core functionality (tracking your hydration).
  • Dynamically calculate hydration goals based on your daily activity (if Dynamic Hydration is enabled).
  • Sync your hydration logs with Apple Health or Google Health Connect (if enabled).

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Your hydration logs, custom drink presets, and app preferences are stored exclusively locally on your mobile device.
  • No Cloud Sync by Us: We do not currently operate servers to back up or sync your data into the "cloud", therefore your data remains in your control. Removing the app or wiping your phone's data will permanently delete your stored logs unless you have backed them up yourself using native OS mechanisms.

4. In-App Purchases

Glug offers an optional "Pro" upgrade. Payments are processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not process, collect, or store your payment card details. We only receive confirmation from the respective app store regarding whether your purchase was successful so we can unlock features.

5. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you a notification). We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the App.
